OA630: Self-Hosted Security

In this one-day workshop, you will walk through the step-by-step process of securing a MongoDB installation by manually configuring access controls, encrypting data in transit and at rest, and applying best practices to ensure robust protection across every layer of your deployment.

Advanced Workshop: Self-Hosted Security (OA630)

Overview

Your MongoDB database contains essential and sensitive data, and keeping this data secure is an integral part of your administrative flow. Automated tooling provides convenience for setting up environments, but it’s important to know what is happening under the hood. This 1-day workshop takes you through the manual steps of securing access, transport and storage for a MongoDB installation, configuring auditing and monitoring for threat detection and compliance, and using tooling to enable consistent provisioning of secure MongoDB environments. By the end of the workshop you will have the skills to maintain the integrity of your MongoDB instances in both on-premises and Atlas cloud environments.

Intended Audience

This training workshop is intended for Database & System admins, Platform engineers, and SREs who will install, configure and maintain Self-hosted instances and clusters. Students should have completed the Ops Manager Admin (OFS400) or Ops Manager API (OFS500) courses prior to attending this workshop.

Workshop Objectives
