Select a badge and learn a new skill by watching videos and practicing with hands-on labs.

2. Validate

Showcase your knowledge in a short 10-question quiz. Use the same email address you used to register for the skill-a-thon.

3. Earn

Claim your official MongoDB Skill Badge from Credly and share it on social media. You’ll also earn Skill-a-thon points for your school!

MongoDB Basics for Students

If you’re new to MongoDB, start with the MongoDB Basics for Students Skill Badge. You’ll learn about database fundamentals, explore the document model, and deploy your own MongoDB Atlas database. After learning the basics, earn additional badges on topics like AI data strategy, vector search, RAG applications, and data modeling.

Advanced Track: Building AI Applications with MongoDB 


This hands-on learning track is tailored for students who have experience with MongoDB and are looking to build sophisticated, data-aware AI applications.

Dive into vector search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), the key building blocks for semantic search and LLM-powered applications. Then level up to building autonomous AI Agents that interact with live MongoDB data. You'll learn how to implement vector search and build a RAG pipeline that retrieves context from MongoDB for grounded LLM responses. You’ll understand how AI Agents work, when to use them, and how to equip them with tools, decision logic, and MongoDB-based memory to build a multi-tool agent that can query, update, analyze, and answer questions using live MongoDB data.
