LAB M049: Adv. Queries and Aggregation (GSI) (Application Delivery)
Practice aggregation skills and learn how to use some of the less well known aspects of the aggregation pipeline. You will also learb about advanced query patterns.
This lab provides in-depth practice with MongoDB aggregation.
It covers a wide range of concepts without being a reference guide to all aggregation functions. It assumes some familiarity with the MongoDB query model, although the basic query model will be covered.
We use the aggregation builder provided by Compass or Atlas less than you might expect. Such tools are a nice way to visualize aggregations but limit the way you think about aggregations. We focus on how to use the shell or write aggregations in your code, with the MongoDB shell being a proxy for a full programming language and driver.
